Dr. Abigail Jurinek

Dr. Abigail Jurinek

Dr. Abigail Jurinek received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Bradley University in Peoria, Ill. in 2010. She previously studied health science and biology at Bradley.

Dr. Jurinek has worked with PROCare Physical Therapy for three years. She has a strong background in treating orthopedic conditions and using an evidence-informed approach to treatments. She takes special care to continue pursuing and utilizing the most up-to-date treatment approaches to best serve her patients and clients. In addition to being a Doctor of Physical Therapy, Dr. Jurinek is a Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist (CMTPT).

In her free time, Dr. Jurinek enjoys camping, snowboarding, mountain biking and playing board games with her husband.

She summarizes her treatment goals as being focused on the person in front of her:

“My patient care philosophy is all about the patient. I find it important to listen carefully to what people are telling me from day one; what their restrictions are, what they enjoy doing that they really want to get back to, their pain patterns and goals for therapy. It is important for me to communicate well with my patients on the ‘why’ of therapy. People should know why I am having them do a certain exercise or why I am doing certain manual techniques. Therapists do not just do ‘massage’ or have people ‘exercise’ just because. There is always a reason for it, and if you don’t know why, then you better ask, because it is important to always know the reason for doing something. I love the people I get to meet as a physical therapist, and my goal truly is to help people get back on track and get them the tools needed to continue their success on their own!”
