Can you help us reach our donation goal of collecting 25,000 pairs of shoes, Milwaukee?

We’re excited to kick off our annual Share-A-Pair  Shoe Drive February 1-29 at our three Stan’s Fir For Your Feet stores and our two New Balance Milwaukee stores. This year, our team has a big challenge we want to present to the Greater Milwaukee residents:  we want to collect over 25,000 pairs of shoes during the month of February!

Do you think we can do it together!?  We do!

So, why do we want to collect so many shoes for our 2016 shoe drive?  Since we started our shoe drive, we’ve collected more than 195,000 pairs of new and gently used shoes which have been distributed locally to Repairers of the Breach, a homeless day shelter in Milwaukee and and Fr. Gene’s HELP Center in West Allis.  The reminder of the shoes have been given to Soles4Souls, a global not-for-profit organization that distributes shoes to people in need and works with qualified micro-enterprise programs designed to create jobs in poor and disadvantaged communities around the world.  Our goal will allow us to pass a huge mile-marker –  200,000+ pairs of shoes since the start of our Shoe Drive.

In March 2015, Megan and Ben Sajdak, two of our management team members traveled with Souls4Soles to Guatemala to help deliver some of our donated shoes to the needy in this country.  They were both amazed by the poverty and need of footwear, and as a result, are determined to make our drive more impactful this year.

“Guatemala changed our lives, we were immersed into the culture and saw so much poverty.  Even though we experience poverty, the people were so loving, proud, and kind.  A 75+ year old, legally blind women walked hours to one of our distribution sites without a pair of shoes to her name.  The strength she had to walk the terrain of this hillsides was admirable. The need is great, not only in our backyard but around the world.   If we are able to reach our goal of collecting 25,000 pairs of shoes in February, we are able to to help so many more people around the world.    We can help make our world better one shoe at a time.  There are so many tough times in life, not having a pair of shoes should not be one of them.” Sajdak.

As a way of saying thanks, anyone donating shoes to our “Share-A-Pair” shoe drive will receive  $10 off your next footwear or handbag purchase through the end of February.
