Are you wearing the right colors this Fall?

The wind is brisk, the leaves are changing colors, and the sun is setting earlier. Fall is in the air. It’s time to pack away the shorts, tank tops and sandals, and get out the jeans, sweaters and boots. This fall’s fashion trends are colorful and highly accessory driven.

                      Pantone’s fall 2013 color palate is diverse and offers the opportunity for bold statements to be made with everyday outfits. Fall clothing colors tend to consist of more earthy tones, similar to carafe, lichen green and turbulence. See above Fall color palette from Pantone for all the great new colors.  Are any of these colors in you closet?  Brighten up your look with a fun scarf, jewelry or top in a vivid, exotic color such as samba, vivacious, koi or emerald to spice up your Fall wardrobe.  Don’t forget, you can find these great colors in footwear as well!

Here at Stan’s we think bold statements can also be made through your footwear!  The new Fall palate that has arrived in our doors coordinates well with the fall 2013 pantone colors.   Footwear can always be found in browns (earth tones), blacks, grays but this year, we are seeing more color than ever!  Great brands such as Dansko, Pikolinos, Fly London, and Trotters,  have come out with unique designs, prints, and variations of the 2013 Fall Pantone colors.  Earthies took it a step further by specifically designing footwear in a bold color from the 2013 Fall palate. This Earthies Teaberry, wedge and smoking slipper, Zuma would pair well with a Turbulence grey pant and an Acai top.  Even though you may believe this Acai colored footwear might be a bold statement, the Acai becomes a neutral that you are able to pair with many apparel options.

Stock up on your favorite colors from the fall 2013 palate because these colors will get you in the mood for Spring 2014.   Several colors from fall 2013 have sister colors the spring 2014 palate. Here’s a sneak peak at the Spring 2014 Color Palatte…get ready!  Dazzling Blue, Celosia Orange and Radiant Orchid are all brightened up versions of Mykonos Blue, Koi and Acai. Paloma and Cayanne are lightened, softer versions of Turbulence and Samba.

Have fun with color and spicing up your Fall 2013 wardrobe!  There’s so many great colors options, don’t be afraid of going bold with color!  Have fun and feel good about it.
